Build Journey | Why Arden

Benefits of Living in an Aquarevo Community

We’ve always prided ourselves on being ahead of the curve on incorporating sustainability features in the homes we build, particularly when it comes to  cutting-edge solar power options.

However we’re thrilled to be taking our environmental commitment one step further as part of a groundbreakingly new residential development, Aquarevo, in Melbourne’s south-east.

The 460-home project in Lyndhurst  is a collaboration between Villawood Properties and South East Water and is the first of its kind in Australia. It is located next to the popular residential development Marriott Waters, with Aquarevo’s first land release selling out in an hour.

Among other sustainability initiatives, the Aquarevo development aims to reduce drinking water by up to 70 per cent – or around 24 Olympic-sized swimming pools a year – through both capturing rainwater and a highly efficient water recycling process.

Arden Homes is a building partner in the project, and we’ve adapted our architect-designed home, the Milan 29, to demonstrate the latest water saving technology.

This includes the OneBox technology from South East Water that will track and monitor water and energy use, helping households adjust their behaviour to use water and energy more efficiently and consciously – reducing their bills.

Each home within Aquarevo will also feature a 2400-litre rainwater tank that will recycle water for washing machines, toilets and gardens; reducing the reliance on our precious drinking water supplies.

If you invest in one of our homes at Aquarevo, it will be plumbed with three types of water: drinking water, recycled water and rainwater. All you have to do is turn on the tap or press a button, and you’ll no longer be flushing drinking water down the loo.

Aquarevo is also thinking further into the future, including a provision for electric vehicle charging points to future-proof homes as the green energy evolution rolls on.

Those who eventually call Aquarevo home will also be close to nature, with five hectares of open space, wetlands, parks and walking trails and sporting grounds at their doorstep. In fact, every single house, including Arden Homes’ properties, will be less than 400 metres from a park.

We are delighted to work with Villawood and South East Water to find water and energy solutions for this project that will ultimately not only help the environment, but our customers.

We also believe Aquarevo will become an important, real-life demonstration of water-sensitive building principles and technology, hopefully inspiring other builders and developers in Australia and around the world to follow suit.
